I remember the first year of having an infant at home. It was so challenging! I know all you mommies and daddies can relate! I had it way easier with Wacky though. He slept 4-5 hours long immediately! But with Jacob, since he was my first child, we had a different routine with him when it bedtime comes. Actually, my Mom was surprised that we gave him baths at night. I was told that back in the day, babies are given baths only in the morning or afternoon. That didn’t make sense to me because as much as I want my baby smelling fresh and good all the time, it made more sense to give him a bath at night after a long day of being cuddled, kissed, and possibly get sweaty (after that time to get the healthy morning sun!).

I actually missed the bedtime routine I had with Jacob because when Wacky was a newborn/infant, it was far more chaotic in our home! But I can testify to the fact that this clinically proven bedtime routine works because it worked for Jacob. I’m sure it would have worked for Wacky too, made our bedtime easier and less stressful, but I had to make do with what I got with him.

We didn't have a full routine with the youngest one! Just milk + brush teeth + pray + little chit-chat about the day and then sleep!

Research shows that establishing a bedtime routine is one of the most important things we parents can do to help our baby sleep better at night. JOHNSON’S® has recently launched a clinically proven Bedtime Routine that engages the senses and helps baby fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer with these 3 steps:

This bedtime routine would include a warm bath with JOHNSON’S® bedtime baby bath that will help baby know it’s time to sleep. This is one of the reason why we gave Jacob baths at night, so he feels refreshed and relaxed. Ready for that slumber (that would last for 3 hours because you know, hungry breastfeeding baby! LOL!)

You can also use JOHNSON’S® bedtime baby oil to warm baby before bath.

Give baby a soothing massage using JOHNSON’S® bedtime baby lotion. The familiar and pleasant scents can make baby feel happy and even more relaxed. I remember both #SantiagoBros would fall asleep when we give them massages, especially light scalp massages.

Quiet Time

This is something I still implement every bed time. Quiet time is when we let the boys wind down from a fun-filled day through quiet time activities like reading, singing or just us talking about our favorite part of the day. No more jumping, screaming, squirming. You can complement quiet time with JOHNSON’S® bedtime baby powder to keep that fresh feeling going and keep baby comfortable while sleeping.

With this campaign, JOHNSON’S® has launched the BEDTIME® baby sleep app designed to equip us moms and dads with information on how to ensure longer and better sleep for our baby.

Search the Appstore or Google Play for the JOHNSON’S BEDTIME APP:

An easy checklist the Bedtime Routine is on the app too! You can customize your routine depending on your child’s existing routine and add the time that you are scheduled to do it. I know sticking on schedule is quite difficult, so I find this as more of a guide that a must-follow-on-the-dot schedule.

I never realized there were apps like this out there. There were still no smart phones the last time we had an infant. Just noticed that Johnsons’ baby powder is really not part of the routine anymore, like generations before.

  12. This app looks awesome for moms! Although I’m not a mom, I’m pretty impressed that Johnsons made one to help mothers. I got interested when you mentioned that babies are given a bath at night to let them know it’s time for slumber. I remember when I was a kid and my parents and adult companions at home do this to me. 🙂

  13. I think Jhonson’s is now blended with the new trend for taking in that app which is an advantage for them. This product has played a big role when I was a kid, sad to say that today, Jhonson’s has no longer that really part of infant life.

Wooo… thanks for sharing the challenges only mums will get! This app is indeed useful. I guess it works like ladies’ menstrual calendar, keeping track and reminding us of when it is time to do certain things. 🙂
