I had the most chill 28th birthday celebration ever! I didn’t plan anything to do, which surprised Oscar, because I usually have everything down to the T. Usually, we celebrate birthdays with the whole shebang: house/hotel party and a whole week of celebration. I don’t know what changed, but after Jacob’s 5th birthday celebration (which I haven’t even blogged about!), I decided to pull the reins a bit and keep it low key. I guess it’s because we’re also trying to not spend too much anymore because we’re preparing to buy our own place. That’s a big factor. But also, I just don’t have the energy! Our yaya recently left (again!), so I try to preserve whatever energy I have left into just being with the kids or working.

Before the weekend, I had to do a series of tests and go to the doctor’s and that kind of wore me out. I was worrying about the results and driving to and from St. Luke’s Global IS a pain. So that kind of really pushed me to just chill out the coming weekend. I did treat myself to a facial, diamond peel and a massage session at The Zen Institute after my doctor’s appointment.

I want to show you what I did for my birthday weekend, but there really weren’t a lot and I didn’t even take picture of the dinner I hosted for my married women’s Victory group at home because I was tired and busy!

I invited my Victory Group over to have dinner and do our weekly meeting at our home. I haven’t been able to go to our meetings for about a month now because the car had to be taken to the shop for repairs and then our yaya left. So I was glad they were all able to go and more importantly, I got to use my “it’s my birthday” card to get my childhood friend Justine, to join us! I’m just glad she join and possibly get into a more deeper relationship with God, in whatever way she can, either through our VG, through service at Victory, or through her own personal journey. I forgot to take photos but thanks to Mildred, I got these:

My 28th Birthday

I made my special dishes and they loved it (daw! Hahaha!) <3 Wacky was so happy and eager to blow out the candles on the cake that Justine got me. Had some wine before going to bed too!

Before lunch, I was being the makeup noob that I am and prepping Justine for my godson Austin’s 1st birthday. We were late to the party because I had to do my make up and you all know it takes me an additional hour and a half now to get ready! Here are some photos from the party:

We attended service at 11AM and drove through McDo to get lunch. We were planning on going to Rockwell or Capitol Commons for lunch or dinner, but I was feeling rather lazy that day and just wanted to sleep. And sleep, we did. After our nap, I was feeling more energy flowing through my body and wanted to go to Rockwell, but changed my mind a few minutes later because the thought of chasing kids at the mall was not the way I want to spend my birthday. So chill some more, we did. Hahaha! This story is getting a bit boring! But I’m telling you! I had the best weekend! No pictures of our Sunday because seriously, I didn’t even take a shower that morning because we were running late! We all showered after lunch and had a great nap. Oh, if we can just do that every day! Hahaha!

I’m just so happy to have done absolutely nothing for my birthday. Usually, I’m overly tired from planning and hosting my own party that I don’t really get to enjoy my birthday weekend. For the first time ever, I got to do just that. I spent time with family and some friends, and finally got to see my VG after a long time. I felt complete!

I was planning on seeing our closest friends after my godson’s party, but cancelled it because I knew I’d be too tired to do anything after the party. We reschedule for this coming weekend so that should be fun! That’ll be a great reward IF I finish all my work this week. So far, I have two sponsored posts up and the rest would just be backlogs and some vlogs I need to edit. Let’s do this!

Special shout out to my Ate Rozel for my Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder and this good bag with the Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque that I am now super in love with!

To my Mom who sponsored this hair color:

  2. roch says:

It’s really hard nowadays to have a trustworthy yaya that can take care of kids nicely. Being a mom is tiring especially for first-time moms.

  3. Franc Ramon says:

Happy 28th birthday! You did have a lot of celebration. You are surely loved.

  4. Bhushavali says:

Heyyyyy…. Wish u a very very happy birthday!!! Sometimes instead of having a blast, some solitude or peaceful time with loved ones is more gratifying!!!

  5. Fred says:

Very busy lady at 28 years old. At that age, I have not done anything like you have already as I was still training. You will really enjoy your son as he grows up with you.

  6. <3 Sometimes quiet and contemplative birthdays are a lot more fun as compared to those carefully planned. As you grow older, you will realize that birthday is more about being surrounded by people and things you love!

  7. Abie says:

Happy Bday Mommy Roxi! Looks like you had a great birthday. I think I did the same last year, I just slept all day, moms like us deserve rest din! πŸ™‚

  8. Elizabeth O. says:

Belated happy birthday to you! I always love simple celebrations. I usually just spend my birthdays at home with my family and that’s it. There are times wherein we would go out to dinner but most of my birthdays are spend quietly relaxing at home.

  9. Happiest birthday to you! This is such a milestone! To more wonderful years ahead ;D

  10. Tiffany Yong says:

Happy belated birthday! You are same age as me (in fact, younger than me!) pretty surprise and I’m glad you had a great day on your birthday!

  11. Shub says:

Happy Bday! After I became Mom, most of the times, bday of mine is celebrated by them with them and the way they decide.

  12. Michi says:

I guess, when you are contented and happy, celebrating your birthday is no longer a big deal. As long as you are surrounded by people you love. Super belated happy 28th birthday! πŸ™‚

  13. Happy birthday! I was reminded by your post that I need to go to the salon also to have a hair treatment. πŸ™‚

  14. Happy 28th!!!
Victory groupmates are <3 Last year when I was depressed about my birthday, they made it special πŸ™‚

  15. May Palacpac says:

Happy 28th! And I love how you celebrated your birthday — with family and long term friends, and long naps, haha! Isn’t that how it should be anyway? πŸ˜‰

  16. Gilian says:

What a week. πŸ™‚ For birthday, I love preparing for other people’s bday, I honestly think the least of my bday. I just usually want to treat myself somewhere. Haha

  17. Patty | MrsC says:

Belated happy birthday, Roxi dear! Great that you enjoyed your non-celebration. I find as I’ve gotten older that doing nothing on my birthday week is the most awesome way to celebrate haha! Tanders na tanders lang!

  18. Hey just going through your blog posts! Love this one πŸ™‚

I am having a fall blog party Saturday coming and would love if you could make it and share some of your posts! http://scaleitsimple.com/2017/10/20/your-invite-fall-feelings-blog-party/
