Hotel Review: The B Hotel, Quezon City

- InTravel

It’s been a while since we actually checked-in to a hotel for a staycation. Aside from our annual (except for this year!) stays at Astoria Plaza in Ortigas, we don’t really do much staycations. But The B Hotel QC has changed the game for us northerners! We no longer have to go as far as Eastwood/Ortigas/Makati/Taguig/Manila for a great hotel to stay in. I’m very picky with hotels, I think there’s nothing wrong with having standards. And to be honest, Astoria Plaza is a bit worn out already for me. I think they only have a few rooms allotted for Astoria Club Members. And I think they don’t take good care of the rooms as they do with their hotel guest rooms. There were a lot of cabinets/drawers in our room the last time that won’t even open anymore. The furniture already shows wear and tear, literally, wood and paint chipping off. The last experience doesn’t really make me want to go back there any time soon. So anyway, when Oscar was planning our Valentine’s Day this year, we wanted to do something special and somewhere nice. I found The B Hotel on Agoda and saw that it had great reviews, and it was near us (sort of!) so we won’t have too much #sepanx since we’re leaving the boys at home.

Oscar called The B Hotel QC and got us one of their Superior Room King. You can choose to have a twin bed too. Check-in was a breeze, I wished we knew there was a lobby ‘inside’ the hotel so we didn’t have to walk up the stairs from the outside parking. But it’s all good! There are parking spots in the basement too. We just opted to park outside since it’s relatively safe and the place is watched by their security guard.

Entering the room, you’ll find the closet on the left and the bathroom sink. First time I’ve ever stayed at a hotel that didn’t have a fully enclosed bath. I thought it would bother me, but it was actually convenient! You don’t have to go inside the bathroom to wash your hands after eating (so lazy, ‘no?). See the room for yourself! The bed was so soft, the pillows fluffy, just how I want them!

Under the sink, you’ll find hand towels, hotel slippers, and in the drawer, a hairdryer. Beside the mirror, two glasses, toiletries.

Our room had a view of the pool deck.

In front of the bed, the TV and a workstation.

I love the industrial feel/cement finish theme of the room. It’s different from all the other hotels I’ve stayed at. Different is good if done like The B Hotel QC!

We didn’t get to swim at all, though it seemed like a good idea to take a dip in this weather. We just stayed in the whole time and I watched One More Chance on Cinema One! For dinner, we opted to eat out at Chili’s Tomas Morato, but we saw my college blockmate and her boyfriend/fiance having dinner at the lobby of The B Hotel. They must’ve had a great time.

Breakfast was served buffet style. It was okay, I wish they had bacon or corned beef. I find some dishes unusual to have for breakfast, like spicy scrambled eggs and beef lasagna. I guess that is the only room for improvement there.

Check out their elevator!

I’m definitely going back there, if not this weekend for their Easter Room Packages, maybe for one of our birthdays. Jacob’s birthday is coming up soon so I’m starting to make a list of what to do. The B Hotel QC is definitely in the list for places to stay in.

When looking for a hotel to “staycation” in Metro Manila, the B Hotel in QC was one of our choices last Holy Week. The ambiance looks great and relaxingg!

  6. This indeed looks like a nice hotel. The room looks spacious, with nice views. I agree that most hotels are in Ortigas onwards to Makati to Muntinlupa, so it’s good news that there’s a good hotel option in Quezon City.

  7. i have not tried doing a staycation in the metro. But if you live a life where you need to be near i guess it would be good try. I enjoy taking break somewhere i won’t see buildings actually. The bathroom though intrigued me … see-through? hahaha . “am thinking kinky”

Ha, I like lasagna for breakfast! My family agrees with you that it’s odd. πŸ˜‰ I should go to the hotel just to surprise the family at breakfast with that option… and laugh. Of course, I would take a photo for proof. πŸ™‚ I think everything looks great!

  9. I like the swimming pool area and their room also quite decent.

  10. It looks like a lovely hotel with cozy rooms and a great pool. That said, why have the toilet out in the open like that? That would be a turn off right away.

Looks like a great hotel to staycation in. Love the room, you’re right it’s different from most hotels. The industrial design is just right and the modern furniture sits perfectly with the whole thing. The bathroom looks really nice too!

Looks like a nice hotel. I’ve never stayed at a hotel that had the bathroom like that before either. That would be good though if it’s just me and hubby but I’d be a bit uncomfortable if sharing with others. πŸ™‚

  13. B Hotel actually looks cozy and great for staycations. It looks affordable and reasonable, but the pool is way too small for me.

Thank you for sharing this. I’m currently debating with friends which hotel to book. I’ll share this with them so we could decide. We’re planning to go to the Philippines for the 1st time by the end of the year. Wish us luck! Cheers!
