I owe you, dear blog, some posts! But with my daily lakwatsa for the next couple of days, I just can’t sit down and write! Let’s start this properly. HELLO! THIS IS MY TRAVEL DIARY FOR MY FIRST EVER SYDNEY TRIP! YAY! 😀

I’m currently 3 days into my trip, I’ll be here for a total of 10 days. So far, I’ve been to IKEA and to a few shops at Stanhope Village Centre in Blacktown. A significant amount of damage to my budget has already been done with just those trips but they were exactly what I came for here! We don’t have IKEA back home so I really stocked up on what we’ll need for the next yearS to come like sheets, etc. (I’LL BE PUTTING UP A HAUL VIDEO ON OUR CHANNEL! SUBSCRIBE!!!). Let me recall what DAY 1 was like.

Oscar drove me to the airport, we left the house around 6:30 PM, my flight was at 12:10 AM. We left the boys at home because if they came with us, they’ll have to endure 3-4 hours of travel time and that’s not fun. Plus, I don’t want any airport drama with them. Before heading out, we stopped by the pharmacy to get my meds which was a fail. Remember how I went to the doctor and asked for some anti-anxiety/panic attack meds? Yeah, I didn’t get to buy them because I didn’t have the original copy and apparently, they couldn’t give my Rx meds if the signatory doctor didn’t spell out his/her full name. It’s a highly regulated drug, so they just simply can’t. I felt okay not getting it at the time, a little bit relieved that I didn’t have to take anything. But also nervous that I didn’t have anything. We got to the airport at 8PM, the check-in counters opened at 9PM.

It was good though that I went early, because I was one of the first few in line and at the boarding gate. I was supposed to go work at the Sky View Lounge after reading online that they accept walk-in paying passengers. But sadly, they stopped doing this back in March and no one even posted about it online. Anyway, I tried to edit the vlog we recorded the day before but didn’t get much done because I was slouched down on the floor. You can see on the VLOG at this time, I was already not in a good mood. I was starting to feel anxious, etc. I decided that I needed to take Benadryl when I get on board to get me to sleep. And that’s exactly what I did.

I was seated at 2C, first row aisle seat. I’m glad I paid a little extra to reserve the seat, otherwise, I don’t know what else would have happened. As I settled in, I was getting more and more anxious, I could feel a PA (panic attack) building up. I was texting with my sister about how I feel. Looking at our chat now, it’s incredible how much anxiety and PA can change how you think at that moment. I’ll talk about this more on the vlog. I feel like that’s a good topic to cover. Anyway, she successfully calmed me down, together with the two Benadryl capsules I took. I ALMOST, almost, got off the plane. 8 hours later, and a few times being nudged awake by passing passengers and flight attendants, I was in Sydney!

OH, and my good friend Sam, his uncle was the captain of my flight from Manila to Sydney. Sam is also a pilot! I have great friends with the coolest jobs! 😀

Going through immigration took a LOOOOONG TIME! Our plane landed at 11:25, I was the first one off. And I got out to see my relatives at 1PM!

Hello Ninang!

Hello Ninang!

We got home, I took a much needed shower and took a 1.5 hour nap. I went through a stack of brochures or are they called weekly magazines for shops to check out the deals. We went to Stanhope Village for dinner because it was my nephew’s birthday that day. I had this for dinner and couldn’t finish it:

After dinner, we went to COLES and got some fruits and other snacks and V8 juice for me since I don’t drink soda. We hung out at their backyard ’til midnight and just chatted over wine.

I started editing the vlog for day 1 but didn’t get to do much. I was still feeling a bit dizzy! I did enjoy their internet speed for watching my subscriptions on YouTube though.

So that was DAY 1! Weather here in Sydney is nice, at least for me! They’re not enjoying the cold, rainy weather because it’s supposed to be hot since it’s summer here. But I personally love this kind of weather. The first thing I thought was Wacky’s skin would do well in this weather. Day 2 VLOG would be so much fun to edit because we went to IKEA yesterday! I also did a separate haul video for that so please subscribe to our YouTube channel if you want to see what I got for the family! You can watch the VLOG now! 😀
