Lighting the candle.

As Christians, there’s nothing we as parents want than to have our children participate in Church and be part of the Christian community so they can learn how to be good brothers and sisters to others. Jacob had his Dedication, similar to a Catholic Baptism, last week at Linden Suites, Ortigas (I’ll write a review later on). We had a double celebration as I was also celebrating my birthday that week.

I’m so happy that we have finally dedicated him to the Lord and I am even more happy that our closest friends and family are there to join us on this memorable event in our lives. I would like to thank Pastor Tito from Victory Greenhills for officiating his Dedication on such short notice.

My ever so happy baby!

We served baked lasagna, roast beef, chicken alexander, barbeque, beef tacos and lots of cakes and cupcakes! The baked meat lasagna and roast beef were from Almost Gourmet. I found out about them from Topaz Mommy and decided to give them a try. Oh they make food taste so good! Joyce and her husband (plus baby) personally delivered our food at The Linden Suites. I will surely get them again for our next parties because my husband loved their lasagna so much!

I didn’t get to take pictures of the food before everyone ate because you can’t imagine how my mind was that day. My BFF and I went to the hotel early to drop off our luggage (yes, we bring a big trolly when we go anywhere!) and pick up the tissue pom poms that I ordered from Party Starters (pictures on my Linden Suites review later). I had to leave Jacob and Oscar at home because they said it wouldn’t fit. But they actually all fit in the truck. So both of them ended up riding with my Mom and Aunt to the hotel. To make things worse, the car they were on broke down RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE HIGHWAY. They had to take a cab since the car was to be towed back home. So I had no time to rest after I checked in at the hotel as my mind my beautifully cluttered and in panic mode. Oh, and I left my camera at home so every photo was taken using my iPhone only. Huhuhu. What a Mom!

After his Dedication, we opened the gifts he received and we’d like express our thanks to his Godparents for the blessings!

Thank you Lord our son Jacob, for blessing our family with such a happy and kind child and for bringing all of our love ones together on his Dedication. All I ask Lord is to keep Jacob safe from harm and people who may hurt him, and to continue to bless and guide him as he continually grows. This I ask in Jesus’ name, Amen.

Hi Pam! I wish I could have taken more pictures of the food because they were delish. Unfortunately only these two made it and I didn’t even get to eat much just like any other party I throw! So sad!

Congrats on Jacob’s dedication, and belated happy birthday to you too. I’ve been to a dedication only once, and I must say, it just feels so real and solemn. Even that incident on the road is a blessing :). It’s something you’ll talk about for years to come.
